Many people think feeling calm means theyโ€™re okay.

It doesnโ€™t always.

Because not everything that calms youโ€ฆ

regulates you.

Some things just make it easier not to feel.

Not to think.

Not to face whatโ€™s actually there.

And that can look subtle.

Like needing constant distraction.

Like always staying busy.

Like using things that โ€œhelpโ€ you relaxโ€”

but also keep you away.

Away from discomfort.

Away from tension.

Away from what needs attention.

And the more you rely on thatโ€”

the less you know whatโ€™s really happening inside you.

Thatโ€™s the part that gets missed.

Because it feels like youโ€™re taking care of yourself.

When in realityโ€” you might just be getting better

at avoiding yourself.

So the question is not what helps you feel better.

Itโ€™s this:

Is it bringing you backโ€ฆ

or quietly taking you further away?
